Terms of Service

1. Introduction and acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service govern the use of the services provided by Hillside Heritage Goats Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a goat business operating from Hillside Heritage Goats, 14 Meadow Lane, Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 1AA, United Kingdom.

By enquiring about, booking, purchasing, accepting delivery of, collecting, or otherwise engaging our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our services.

These Terms apply to all customers, buyers, owners, keepers, and other persons engaging with our services, including goat sales and rehoming, breeding stock supply, smallholding grazing goats, welfare checks and health guidance, animal handling and settling advice, and aftercare support for new owners.

2. Scope of services

Hillside Heritage Goats Ltd may provide the following services, subject to availability, suitability, animal welfare considerations, and any applicable legal or regulatory requirements:

Any descriptions of goats, including breed, age, condition, temperament, breeding potential, or suitability for grazing, are provided in good faith based on information available at the time. Such descriptions are not a guarantee of future performance, behaviour, fertility, productivity, or health outcomes.

We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or withdraw any service where we consider that doing so is necessary or advisable for animal welfare, customer safety, or business reasons.

3. User obligations and responsibilities

By engaging our services, you agree to:

You acknowledge that goats are live animals and their behaviour, health, and welfare can be affected by environment, handling, feeding, stress, disease, weather, transport, and other factors outside our control. You are responsible for ongoing care from the time the goat is collected, delivered, or otherwise transferred to you.

Any welfare checks, health guidance, handling advice, or aftercare support we provide is general in nature unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing. It does not replace veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care.

4. Payment terms and conditions

Prices for goats, services, deposits, transport, aftercare, or other charges will be communicated prior to booking or purchase, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

All prices, if quoted, are subject to change until confirmed in writing. Unless stated otherwise, prices may exclude transport, veterinary charges, testing, bedding, feed, equipment, and other ancillary costs.

5. Cancellation and refund policy

Cancellation terms may vary depending on the nature of the service, the stage of preparation, and whether animals have been reserved, handled, transported, or rehomed.

Because live animals are involved, cancellations and returns are subject to strict welfare considerations. We do not accept the return of goats unless we agree this in advance and it can be done safely and humanely.

Any refund that is agreed will be processed using the original payment method where practicable, within a reasonable time after approval of the refund.

6. Liability limitations

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to the foregoing, Hillside Heritage Goats Ltd shall not be liable for:

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with any service, sale, or supply shall be limited to the amount paid by you for the specific goat or service giving rise to the claim, unless a different limit is required by law.

You are responsible for arranging suitable insurance where appropriate, including but not limited to public liability, property protection, livestock insurance, or other cover relevant to your circumstances.

If a force majeure event occurs, we may suspend, modify, or cancel services and will use reasonable efforts to minimise disruption and communicate with you as soon as reasonably practicable.

10. Changes to terms

We may update or revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, operational requirements, legal obligations, or business practices.

The updated Terms will take effect from the date they are published or otherwise communicated to you. Your continued use of our services after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

If a change materially affects a confirmed booking or existing arrangement, we will act reasonably and, where appropriate, notify you in advance.
